Well I've been arm-twisted into writing a few words about this week's run. Given my relationship with the On-sex, I could hardly refuse. The other reason I agreed is that this Songkran run from Wat Bang Khanun, set solo by Agent Orange, was one of the best BMH3 runs I've been on in some time and I wanted to give it its due. Never mind that it's one of the only BMH3 runs I've been on in some time, what with work, travel, wars, epidemics, quarantines, etc. Nevertheless, it was a truly fine run.

Unfortunately, I arrived about a half hour late to the run site, not having anticipated the 5km long neighborhood battle of the blessings between me and the start point. I set out fairly certain that I would catch the slow moving crowd within a short time, but after f----ing up and getting lost on the first couple of checks, I was doomed to doing the whole run by myself. That didn't turn out to be as much of a challenge because some nice hashers (?) took the time to lay the checks on and I didn't have to waste much time searching. I was also helped on several occasions by groups of holiday merrymakers who had in fact seen a group of crazed runners going by a short while ago.

I don't remember too many details about the trail itself other than the fact that it was about 80% on trails, in gardens, through shiggy, etc. Hashing as it was meant to be and that is so rare in this town. At one point literally through a crappy little stream that the hare tipped me I must go through as the on on was straight across, only to find out later that all but one or two other runners actually crossed while others sought out and found a nearby bridge. The run carried on through the gardens, across the new highway (yes, straight across and not along or back on to some smaller tarmac road) and back into the gardens, through a Wat, across a klong, back across the highway (yes, straight across again and right back on trail) up on to a dirt road (unfortunately the beginnings of a new road actually. More good hash country buggered), and on in back down the road into the wat, which was much appreciated since it was pitch dark by that time and seeing the paper in the gardens was becoming more and more of a challenge. Again, a great run.

When I got back, I found out that another runner had not yet returned--the famous cad "Robert" who had spent the previous ononon trying to pick up a married hasher, unsuccessfully I might add, however frisky she may have been. Suffles did his best job of butchering the hash music and was summarily dismissed and elected POTW for his efforts, or lack thereof. By the time the circle broke up Robert had not yet shown, but only yours truly, Beefeater, and Noriega cared enough to even consider going to look for him. As we were setting out, he finally called from the ononon site. I guess he is a real hasher. Couldn't remember the name of the run site, but remembered where the beer would be. The ononon at a nearby klong-side eatery was enjoyable. Best of all, it was generously provided free of charge by the hare, for which he was rewarded with a note and a down down. After the meal, ice cold blessings were provided by the proprietor. The entertainment was provided by leaping, yelping guests. I left just as about 10 more bottles of piss were brought out for the roughly 6-8 remaining revellers, so there's no telling how the night ended up…SCRIBE: TASTES GREAT
