As next week’s hare was not present at this run, he is therefore not able to do this report. I think it is nice to have a report each week and echo the On Sec’s request that hares try to be present at the run preceding their’s to publicise their run and to do a report. Significant events need to be recognized and the birthdays of 3 of BMH3’s finest is such an occasion. And as I am on holidays now, it is no problem for me to step in and do a write-up this week.
The GM was back in Thailand, and early for today’s run! However at the end of the run I noticed many faces that were not there at the start so they missed seeing George of the Jungle in action at the beginning of a run! It was an enjoyable run starting with a loop around the moo bahn and a couple of clever back checks to slow the pace of the front runners and keeping the pack together.
The pace quickened a bit after that with checks being generally broken without too much trouble meaning little chance for a rest for the runners in the middle of the pack. Fortunately we have not yet had enough rain to turn the buffalo grounds into mud pits so the run was pleasantly dry. The locals were very keen to point the direction in which we should continue and the sight of the hash running through their neighbourhood brought much enjoyment to the local community. Are these sweet smiling muslims of the same religion that is causing so much trouble in this world? Hard to believe! It was fun running through this community provided you remembered to keep your head down to avoid running into the low eaves, and you didn’t mind the rather strong smell of the freshly slaughtered buffalo at one point.
Most runners were back in around 45-50 minutes although some did not come in on paper! What’s new.? As Cenghis (next week’s co-hare) said to me. “I didn’t do the whole run so how could I do a write-up?”
At the circle.
· Ra, a returning visitor from Egypt, was Ra
· Guzman, a returner from outer space, was Guzman, and Prick of the Week. Fancy nominating the GM for the P.O.T.W!
· Sugar Daddy was celebrating his 100th run
· May was congratulated on her elevation to the status of Harriettes GM
· Frisky, who is finally leaving us for Vietnam, was farewelled. We will miss her smiling face.
· The Heineken ran out again. What happened to ‘social drinking’?
Thanks to the birthday trio of Ian, Mini and Pam for a nice run and On On On. Don’t forget the further celebrations at Noriega’s from 8.30 on Friday
On On,
