KO KRED REVISITED(again and again)
It seems like long time when we the last run we had on the quaint little island of Ko Kred. Crash Daly with her usual lost sense of direction painstakingly advised me on our drive off to the Bush Hash in Pattaya last Saturday that we could drive over and land right in the middle of Wat Paramai. A few glasses of wine later she conceded her defeat but still maintained that Pisstak told her so. Well, at the last look when we crossed back from the island last night, the island was still surrounded by Chao Phya river and the bridge has yet to span the Pakkred strait.
As the incredibly heavy traffic on local road leading to Changwattana turn off kept us broiling in the car for 40 minutes,by the time we approached Wat Sanam Nua we already missed the hash boat but one quick call to the hare sent us to Farm Ang Thong car park which is opposite the restaurant. The Hare came to the rescue again when she tipped us off not to follow the first check but kept on going. Lo and behold we spotted the retreating naked back of Boob-A-Lube in the distance just past Wat Salakul with Hungry Bum in hot pursuit. A few FRBs emerged from the bush and the chalked arrows in opposite direction stalled the front pack. They seem not to know whether they are coming or they are going. Joylide didn't sweat her sweat on such dilemma. For her the solution is quite simple. If the trail didn't come to her, she went to the trail, twice or thrice if necessary. The rest of the FRBs with their eyes glued to the ground for paper reluctantly followed her across the swampy field. Rainy season has started early this year and the terrain has been wet but not that wet to hinder our paper chase. Once on the other side of the island, the trail went right. What? Surely it wouldn't be this
short!I remember the hare's instruction about water stop somewhere on the left but couldn't find the trail leading to the stop. The trailblazers called on on up ahead on the trail we know so well that it will eventually lead us back to the Ko Kred Restaurant on the-round-island loop. 34 minutes later most of the FRBs made it back to the on in, including the Bug who was seen sprinting with the pack just a hundred meter away from the restaurant. For the scribe, it's a short and sharp run, quite a welcome break from the 2 hours ball breaker Bush run over the weekend.
As George the GM is still lost in the jungle somewhere over the river, Lenscap took over and called the circle. A few returners including Toy Boy and Nick the Kiwi who has left this fair land more than 9 years ago and was very surprised to learn that Monday hash is still going strong. It's that time of the year (which fortunately only comes by every 4 years) when the soccer fever ran high and England's loss was publicly demonstrated with a few look-alikes representing both England and France. Gengis offered to stand in as a Greek basking in the glory that is not his but what the hell, we are all neighbours, aren't we?
Prick of the week went to Joylide who has been reported on the Ménage a Trois exhibition involving her, AKM and Bruce Marks. The commotion was so deafening I couldn't hear the full charges but heard from the most reliable sources that the Prick was most suitably awarded.
Thanks Hare for an enjoyable evening and whoever up there held off the rain throughout the evening.
