The GM was not present to start the run (is he ever!? ed) so JM ‘Lenscap’ set us off along the soi which we have often used as an ‘On In’ trail. Then, left past the spot where I nearly died last time we ran here as someone was burning toxic waste and the choking fumes nearly did me in! Not so today. Just a few yapping dogs as we crossed some narrow planks and entered the maze of the orchards.
Nice territory with several bridges, some cement paths and some running along rarely used roads. We had some serious runners on this trail but back checks did a good job in keeping the pack together. At one stage I was held up by some shirtless ‘old fart’ who had stopped running to check his instrument, or his pulse, while another was continually checking his thing that use satellites to tell you where you are!. Can’t we just run and enjoy it? (hear hear!) Cenghis, The Captain, The Senator, Pitak, and Bimbo, kept appearing at odd intervals along the trail. Is this evidence that matter can be transferred instantly from one place to another, are they cunning runners, or are they just SCB’s?
Quite a quick run as checks were generally broken by those serious runners so that the rest of us could run straight through without too much delay. A good length for this time of year though with most people back in around 45 plus minutes with darkness approaching. We were presented with nice T-shirts to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘the incident’ which forced Maverick to leave his place of birth and to resettle overseas.
GM George appeared from somewhere just in time to start the circle (further evidence of matter transference?) and Ajarn Ki Mao did another fine job as fill-in RA. Visitors included ‘Hot Mix’ and a couple of tall Scandanavians, and a New Boot, with the unfortunate name of Ian, was inducted. Prick of the week went to ‘Hot Mix’ who wanted pictures of the occasion (so he can advertise himself on the internet!) and was rather reluctant to return the appendage!
For the On On On Maverick sponsored 25 bottles of beer to further celebrate his anniversary. Thanks to hares’Katoy Kick Boxer’ and ‘Maverick’ and On On to the AGM next Monday.

On Monday we had 24 Harriers, 6 Harriettes, 1 new boot and 2 visitors, total = 33. Returners included Jim "Bimbo" Edens, John McBirnie, and Meow "Deep Shag" Hutchinson. Welcome to New Boot Ian McGilloway
