Run:- 1200. Date:- 20 March 2006.
Location:- Bo Gung Phao restaurant (Rama 5 Bridge)
Hares:- Lem (No good Boyo) Morgan & Cenghis (Disgusting) ErtunaIt’s amazing how the rumour of free goodies and / or grub will generate a good turnout on the Monday night Hash, and so it was with this most illustrious run – the 1200th for the pack.
After stern admonitions from the Hare to ignore any white chalk – an aberration from an earlier run, the pack were off.
This was a good run with varied going and had many checks, false trails and several instances of the pack going off paper. After the run, someone even commented that those noble hashers who stayed on paper (including your scribe) probably ran about 2 kms less than the FRB’s did.
The circle welcomed several guests and returners, and various miscreants were suitably punished. However, despite a masterful stance by the GM (before the run commenced,) in which he stated that those runners who were improperly dressed (not wearing approved Hash gear) were going later to be asked to remove it, this sadly did not happen and the more salacious amongst us were greatly disappointed.
The Antipodean runners pounced with glee on a limited supply of Victoria Bitter, one of them even speculating that it might be someone’s private stash, and that they shouldn’t really be drinking it. (On the Monday Hash !! a private stash indeed – what tosh, what nonsense !!)
This being the 1200th run, it was deemed necessary to establish which Hashers had attended the highest percentage of available runs since they had joined the pack. This produced a line-up of 10 ne’er-do-wells, hooligans and drunkards that few Hash packs (in your scribe’s experience) could hope to match, the finest of them all being Frank (Noriega) Alum with an almost unblemished record of attendance.
There followed an excellent, and very well attended, On-on-on, both in quality and quantity, with lots of delicious fish dishes, and all washed down with generous quantities of the amber nectar. Well done Hares, a great evening, and a worthy celebration of Bangkok Monday Hash’s 1200th run.
