It was a dark and stormy afternoon…..black clouds
threatened the runners on their path, even before they began. The Hash house
harriers forged on, slipping and sliding along the tiny wooden beams that
connected one path to the other through the small khlongs. The one hour tour
that the hashers thought they were on ended up being a 3 year long never
ending journey called; Gilligan's Khlong…..There was tthe professor; Ajarn
Kimau. There was the skipper; Nogoodboyo. There was the captain..;Bullet.
There was the millionaire and his wife; Sir Bogdiver and……..<.. And then
Ginger and Marianne; Lovebug and Skidmarks who looked absolutely fabulous
and stunning, as usual, despite the rain. They were faced with many trials;
how to forage make up and lipstick out of roots and berries, and how to
maintain their glamour while trudging through the muddy parts of the jungle.
They both decided decided that the mud was an excellent anti-aging miracle
not to be shared. The skipper and Gilligan headed for the fastest way out of
the storm, and managed to outdo Gengiz on his shortcut talents. Gengiz had
been gallavanting on Gilligan's klong for years, and was happy to hear of
Ginger and Marianne being in the vicinityโ€ฆ.His exitement, understandably,
was hard to contain and he let them down his secret path.
The food that they nourished themselves on, you'd think
that it would be coconuts and speared fish, but luckily a Lays chips floated
in a a klong…..along with Heineken. Marianne and Ginger were very
disheartened by the musquitos, but their neverending courage kept them there
till the end. Brave.
