We waited for a 5:40 departure waiting for people
to turn up as this was an unannounced A to B run. Eat Me seemed to
be in charge of the songthaews and the hare was nowhere in site.
Many people suspected a “bike hash”, not the “dress up and pose with
your expensive cycling gear to impress” hash house harriers, but the
“hare's on two wheels” type of run. And it was. We were taken to a
part of town past the Unico Golf Course. This was the area Kim
co-hared with Derek Tavender on the Harriettes a few weeks ago. Kim
claimed she told him it was an awful run – so just for the Monday
Hash, she managed to replicate the worst parts of it.
People finally made their way in rather late arguing about where soi
43 was in relation to sois 41 and 45, the length of the trail and
various other nonsense.
GM called a rather late
circle and we got on with the business of punishments. Bruce,
returning after many weeks absence was in rare form. As nominations
began to mount up, a sheepish looking Imelda stuck here face around
the gate, and, “nominations closed”. For her annual visit to the
BMH3 Imelda was POTW, yet again.
Kim then tried to
make an announcement about how to eat the food. Perhaps an
individual visit to each table to explain how to skewer a piece of
buffalo meat onto a long fork, and dip it the boiling oil would have
been more helpful. Ajarn Kee Mao and GM managed to almost scald
themselves to death when one of the vats of boiling fat tipped over.
