Scribe:- TicklerReportedly there was supposed to be a "hash" run on Monday 28 April 2008, the meeting place was described a restaurant called "Hoei Pochana" along Rachapruek Rd just past a a large car dealership. Silly me for going past this large car dealership, not finding the restaurant, having to backtrack and then finding the restaurant was not called "Hoei Pochana"!!!! Things only went downhill from there as the hare "Frisky" commented that the trail had been set with a lot of flour and chalk and because it had rained, the marks were probably gone.....and as it turned out that was no f...kin' lie!!!
The pack was set off heading south along Rachapruek Rd. and after 635 meters of straight running we ambled onto the first paper mark (this turns out to be 1 of the 5 marks that I saw all day!). Phoney Sex seemed to have some advanced knowledge of of the supposed Trail as she encouraged the pack not check the side streets by screaming "go F...cking straight you assholes"! Finally the trail did take a side lane as we stumbled upon our first check which was keenly marked with masking tape. "Weedeater" seemed to derive great pleasure on dismantling the "X" and reforming it into a "V" in the direction of the trail. 200 meters further down the road we came upon the klong AND there was a bridge there to cross over!!!
That was not there a year ago (and still does not show up on google earth) and although it was painted "lavender" it was the highlight of the run! Believe me, you don't need to read any further unless you want to hear me berate the hare and other whinging hounds! The Wat on the other side of the bridge proved challanging as it took nearly 15 minutes to find the trail out. THE SENATOR was one of those to find the way but not not for long. Within 300 meters the pack ran out of paper with the exception of shreddie laid by JOYLIDE in any direction that suited her. Yes, there was one last "masking tape" check that did not yield a trail for anyone. Frustration at this point was taking it's toll as checking in every direction possible yielded no paper trail, so it was time for an alternative......f__king head north and hope to find some paper somewhere!
In the company of HASH HASH, HATERPEACOX and DUNKIn' DONUT we moved on in search of holy paper grail. After 3km of parallel travel along the klong there was notta, zip sign of a trail and now at the intersection of Bang Kruai- Sai Noi Rd, it was inevitable but to tramp the concrete back along Rattna Tibet and Rachapruek to the A-site. During this 3.5km "on-in" I had time to reflect on certain life issues like "FRISKY is over 40 years old, how did she live this long doing shit like this?" All of a sudden LETCHEROUS has been elevated to "quality hare" status!
Finally back at the A-site I realized that I did take the long way around (11.5km) when you see people like BAD BOY BUBBY, NO NO, GOLDEN SHOWER and MAVERICK already 3/4 shit-faced. However, very soon I found that I was not alone on a long trek home as SPINNING DWARF and NORIEGA show up after me. They both claimed to have found the "paper" but with the time of their return that's all fiction.
There was a circle and someone got "prick-of-the-week" but being delerious with fatigue I can't remember who, but if it was not the hare FRISKY that was a travesty of justice. The hare repented for her her sins with a 100 baht on-after and the promise to do this run again properly.
As a final note, if you ever wondered why the British Empire declined into the miserable North Atlantic island that it is now, just try having a conversation with LOVE CANAL after he's had about 2 beers and you will know!
