Run:- 1315 Date:- 2 June 2008.
Location:- Nonthaburi pier
Hares:- AKM and Bruised Willy
Scribe:- 4x2?Interesting directions offered us several different ways to get to “Tha Nan Non”. [maybe this was a hidden clue from the hares ??? See later]. Thanks to the Hare's directions “turn left just after the yellow footbridge” (“the” yelow foorbridge? There were dozens of them) we made it, late and with nowhere to park. A round the block pass that took a full 10 minutes through the extremely crowded centre of town took us back to the start where a very nice restaurant parking boy allowed us to park right next to the restaurant. By this time however, the run had left. Eat Me and I followed the well marked (with arrows) trail through the back streets of Nonthaburi. We got to the Rama V Bridge, crossed the river and continued until we came to Wat Sangkhathan. Then the trail stopped. At least we could not find anything – in any direction. In fact neither could anybody else. So we came back by taxi. And others came back by Express Boat (thanks to the Hare's detailed instructions about using the river to get to the run). And others retraced their steps. Nobody finished the run.
Ed “The Great Pudenda” Rubesh was waiting at the pier with his daughter. Tell Ian it was a total fuckin' non event” he said, as he walked off.
“Oh be nice to Ian... it's his biiiirthdaaaaay” said Diane
“All the more reason not to be nice to him” said Ed, and he left. Some time later, the hares returned. Kevin was rather more honest than Ian. “We failed” he said. Indeed you did boys. We could not find the trail. Nobody could find the trail. That generally means that the hares did not the best job of marking the trail. Right?
No. According to Ian, they were “pushing the envelope” to try and do something a bit different. Er ????
Kevin said that he wanted to do a “green run”. So why take 5km on concrete until arriving at the green area? Why not start it in the green area? Why do A-B, when B-A works much better? Who knows the answer to these questions?
