Run:- 1317 Date:- 16 June 2008.
Location:- Wat Toei, Pakkret
Hare:- Hashendale
Scribe:- ?It was absolutely pissing down in the afternoon and it was one of those days that only the hardcore would show up for the run. Long traffic queues along Chaeng Wattana slowed things down. We arrived late, and everyone had gone. Then they all appeared again, apparently sheltering from the rain. No hare was to be seen. OnOn was called by the side of Wat Toey and we started a run, that added a couple of inches to the bottom of our shoes with sticky mud that slowed us down a lot. Joost took us over a lot of plantations where the levees were very precarious. Very much anti Hayter Peacox territory. At one stage we found ourselves in the middle of an open field with lightning all around which was rather scary.
All in all an excellent, wet and well laid run.
We waited for ages for the circle to be called by JM The Tickler. It was still raining and we huddled around trying to keep warm while we listened to several “on this day in history” points from Ajarn and Tickler. Dunkin Donut, came and left after 10 minutes, several left early and only 9 remained for the OnOnOn.
Great food, but hare Joost managed to completely ignore last week's advice on how to organise an OnOnOn. He should know by now. Too much grub meant that several doggie bags were taken home but still the price was 250 Baht. Good value.
