Hare: George of the Jungle

Yours truly only been in the land of smiles since the beginning of the month after a break of four years due to you know what. Most of the Hashers were present as our taxi trundled into the restaurant car park just before five o clock. George of the Jungle, the hare, gave a brief description of the course. Mainly rectangular, probably seven to eight klicks.

I looked around after the FRBs had exited looking for someone with local knowledge and as slow as me to follow. Capt Erik was beginning to rise. Yes an excellent choice. Tickler was already in motion. As Erik and I took up the rear, I thought to myself, I think I can maintain this pace. We hit the klong and I was ahead of Erik but behind Tickler. Don’t get caught between two stools went through my mind so I moved a little faster and caught the esteemed master of solo navigation up.

The mob were out of sight but we were still on chalk. It must have been the first check because I could see ahead Hashers milling about over a bridge. Checkless said it had taken a long time and was a difficult check. We pressed on. Tickler and I soon found ourselves on our own again. At the next check, he decided to pursue his own route, ignoring the arrows. An hour out. I tried to imagine what part of Georges rectangle we were at. No matter we must three to four klicks down the route. Motor bikes upset my free flowing rhythm but cheerful local people compensated.

The light was fading when Tickler looked at the map on his phone. We had left one main road and heading for another and were 100 meters away when a tall male came into view. Not that my eyes are that good at 100 meters but I was wearing the same vest. It was Spinning Dwarf. Fifteen minutes later we were back. Most Hashers seemed to be back before us. A beer and a seat were required. Plenty of both. The GM called ten minutes to the circle. The throng replied five. I had had a down down as a returner last week. The RA took over. Non complementary comments issued from his mouth aimed at many.

Attending 16 harriers, 3 harriettes, 4 visitors, returners Nick Mijo Slut, Stephan Cums in Spurts.

Visitors included Eat Me From Behind who was awarded prick of the week for buying and squeezing into a child size BMH3 T shirt, Sauerkraut, Pat Pom and Snake bite.

Next weeks run hared by the Capt.

We did not have to travel far for the On3. A very good evening.
