Hare:- Splat

Our Mother’s Day run started from Joylide’s Mansion on Soi 8, and a reasonably healthy looking bunch of Hashers had turned up early for the event, anticipating a run through Lumpini and Benjakitti parks, or not. Nominated Hare for the day was Splat, who was seen lounging in a chair, no doubt after her strenuous efforts setting the trail. Her co-hare Tickler was still out there somewhere, presumably adding a few finishing touches.

Splat told us what marks to look for, ONON was called, and off we all went down Soi 8 in the usual direction towards Lumpini. There was a good check on arrival at the park, which was broken through the dog park. Lovely to see all the little doggies, some manicured and permed in their own transport.

Out onto Rachadaphisek, then up to the Sukumvit Asoke junction where Hashers were seen milling around all over the place. Yours truly made the mistake of checking north on the west side of Asoke, and lost sight of everyone. Ran back to Sukumvit, where a few Hashers were spotted in the distance heading towards Soi 19. Followed them, eventually realizing we couldn’t possibly be on trail when Boob was spotted up ahead in the lead.

Mai pen rai. Carried on up to the end of Soi 19, then crossed over Asoke to Soi 23 hoping to pick up the trail again. Boob and Anyone headed south on 23, your scribe headed north, alone. Didn’t see any other Hashers for the rest of the trail.

Up 23, through the University, and out to Khlong Saen Saep, where, whaddaya know? A check! Back on trail along the khlong path to Soi 15. Down 15, past NIST, then turning right and left into Soi 13. Just before the right turn there was a very disheveled farang looking guy standing there naked in the bushes waggling his dong around for all to see. Not a pretty sight, maybe he was hoping to provide some entertainment for the students at NIST. Amazing what you get to see on the Hash sometimes.

Straight down Soi 13 to Sukumvit, over the footbridge, and then down Soi 8 passing under the eyes of the early evening drinkers in the bars. Don’t know who was more amused at this encounter, me or them.

Most were back by the time I arrived, which made me wonder which route they had taken. A couple of visitors got back about 30 minutes late.

Acting GM Boob led the circle, the Hares received praised for setting a good run, visitors and returners recognized, talkers were chastised and relocated, and politically incorrect Pussy Virus was awarded POW, with a new prick that when whacked lit up and sang a song, sort of.

Only 9 hashers that went to the On On On, we mostly ordered drinks. Only The Tickler that ordered a lot of food, so he had to offer some to us and doggy bag home.
