Run:- 2179, 29 September 2025
Location:- Hua Lampong (A to B run)
Hare:- Tokoroten
It was one of those . . . it might rain, it won't rain . . . kind of days. In the end . . . it DID NOT rain.
It was an A to B run, starting in the fading light of the afternoon, and finishing in the twilight evening hour. We had about 20 on trail this evening, and all seemed to have a splendid time.
A little background story . . . I used an old bandana that I was handed in Fiji back in 2018, for Trinidad&Tobago. Seems I had not had the opportunity to wash it over the past 7 years. I did not notice until I finished trail today, that my sweat had fostered the drool of red dye all down my face, from the bandana. 🤪
With a ton of awesome twists and turns, the pack managed to navigate this 8 + Km trail through China Town. A great day to be on the Hash here in Bangkok.
Here is the second write-up:
Bangkok's Chinatown is usually the chosen territory of Pussy Virus, Drunkin' Donut and Vichai Cool, all of whom, over the years, have hared many many Hash runs in the area. This was to be Tokoroten's first shot at haring a BMH3 run and he bravely opted to do a solo (sans co-hare) live-hare run. He started off by winding up a couple veteran Hashers on Facebook, claiming the trail would be a "10km run, zero checks, only 4 turns!!!". 4x2 and Roger Me took the bait ... hook, line and sinker, judging by their replies.
We met at Hualampong Train Station carpark, where Nibbles and her vehicle were there to take our bags to the B-site. The hare set out about twenty minutes before the pack with a bottle of flour and some chalk. Lucky for him and us that it never rained. He had told the GM to tell the hounds to take Exit 4 out of the MRT station. Did the Nigerian, a late arrival get the message?
The trail was quite well laid and had us zigging and zagging thru the alleyways of Yaowarat. A couple of Beer Stops along the way provided welcome rehydration. Notably, visitor Toy Boy was wearing a relic of a BMH3 T-shirt that he purchased in 1992.
The B-site was Drunkin' Donut's usual spot, Hoy Kom Pun Lan, a mere 2.6km from where we started. First in on trail was Hazukashii, although he did manage to somehow miss the second beer stop. Tokoroten was a little worried at how long the pack was taking to return, spending too much time at the beer stop. Brenda was last in before the circle commenced in the middle of the soi.
The hare was congratulated for a very good trail replete with good checks, many turns and a normal distance of just over 7km. Haz was a notable returner who had been adding to his record holding 'most countries Hashed' list. Following the circle a delectable dinner was served up at the restaurant including a dish of fried green amphibians. Thank you Tokoroten, well done and On On!
