Run:- 1343 Date:- 15 December 2008
Location:- Near Wat Khien
Hare:- Maverick
Scribe:- Hater P CoxIn the reign of the Bog close to the bridge of the great king Rama 5 and the Wat Khien the multitude assembled. Twas a fine turn-out on a fine sunny Monday for a fine run. An opening loop and check eventually brought us back within a few metres of the cars.
This opening gambit fooled some - notably the Tickler convinced that the run should be in the direction of last week's effort disappeared into the distance never to be seen again. Despite the opening loop and the time taken to find the out trail late comers never caught-up such was the frantic pace set by the front runners notably Man called Horse, Joost, Jeff Gay, Frank and AKM.
Onward thru plantations, concrete paths, dirt tracks, Wats and roads onwards and ever onwards went the 500 - with checks that did not hold for more than a few seconds it was almost non-stop running all the way. This, my style of hash I hasten to add.
Newly appointed hash horn could at least blow the thing but the sound soon faded in the dust as he slowed his pace to marshal visiting family while the sounds from the squeaky horn blown by MC Horse faded into the sunset in the other direction.
Most of us were back under an hour, though the pack had become well strung out by then to be greeted by his esteemed Excellency the Bog and Ex GM Noah already into the piss. Regular late comers George o t Jungle, Sebathtion, Pussy Virus and Steve last weeks hare came in as the darkness fast descended upon us..
Fearing that the beer would run out as it usually does these days I dispensed with the token half bottle of water and headed straight for the Tiger. It was explained to your reporter that some silly austerity programme was in force and beer qualities and snacks were being regulated - Hash piss does a great job done;t make it difficult and don't piss them off eh- If we don't have enough money then raise the fees - nuff said.
Circle time and the run righty received good reviews. New RA the Tickler conducted his first sermon and POW was ?????? awarded for crimes committed in the dim and distant past regarding a sad story of loose women and medical bills.
Socialist drinking was called but as expected the beer almost immediately ran out - so the crowd headed for the eatery while I headed home.
