After a wonderful 1.5hr taxi ride from the Southern Ring Road where the driver decided to cross the river to the other side, I showed up 30 minutes late. Thus, my account misses much of the run. Apologies to Jingles.

The run began on concrete and quickly turned off onto small paths. The wrong fucking way, of course. Lest we forget Cengiz’ unique haring style (i.e. a non-stop combination of false trails and backchecks), within a few hundred meters he tosses us several reminders. Down the wrong trails I went, left and right, being yelled at by local landowners already pissed off by the pack trying to run through their yards. Thanks for that.

At some point the trail turned off into the green and the run got quite pretty. Cengiz took us through orchards and hidden paths and villages. Those of us running alone and without aid of a pack also got a chance to fend of rabid dogs alone as their “owners” smiled and laughed and explained that the dogs were harmless. What a treat! Still, on the trail went through beautiful green scenery, winding around and around until I popped out into the parking lot where the run started from. A brilliant ending to a fine run, in spite of Cengiz’ efforts to ruin it!

The GM called the circle together with his usual aplomb. “YEAH OKAY TIME FOR CIRCLE.” The hashers gathered and charges were handed out. The GM berated various people in his lovable and tender manner after which The Tinkler and Ajarn Kee Niao put everyone to sleep with their usual litany of trivia questions and the weekly reading of the dead in which they list the name of every dead person in the entire world and a bell is rung once after each name. The circle came to a close with the GM irritatingly changing the time for this week’s run to 5:30 without consulting the fucking hare. In short a good time was had by all!
